Mrs. Jeannie Davis
​
Headmistress
Jeannie Davis began the Lexington Latin School in 2003 by teaching Latina Christiana I and Roman history to beginning Latin students. LLS quickly grew to a full curriculum and all day classes. Mrs. Davis has been a long-time friend to Cheryl Lowe, founder of Highlands Latin School and Memoria Press. Mrs. Lowe encouraged Mrs. Davis to begin the venture of a Latin school in Lexington.

Mrs. Davis' credentials include a B.S. degree from Western Kentucky University, an M.A.T. from the University of Louisville, and an M.S.W. from the University of Kentucky.  She and her daughter studied English Literature at Oxford University in Exeter College one summer. Mrs. Davis holds a Lifetime Teaching Certification in Kentucky and has had much experience teaching in various venues including high schools, community colleges, adult education programs, and home schooling.

Mrs. Davis loves teaching children and watching their knowledge and good character increase. She resides close to Lexington, Kentucky, with her husband, Sherman.

Jennifer Hagerman, CPA

​Jennifer Hagerman received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Western Kentucky University.  She worked for six years as a CPA before becoming a stay-at-home mother of four.  Mrs. Hagerman joined the LLS faculty in 2016 where three of her four children attend.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, Wes, and children, eating  out at her favorite restaurants, singing in her church choir, and watching college baseball.

As part of a military family, Deb Nickell grew up all over the United States and calls Kentucky home. She has  earned two bachelor's degrees from the University of Kentucky (Agriculture and Physician Assistant Studies), an MBA from the University of Dallas, and a PhD from UK (Health Communication).  Her career has bridged clinical practice, management, academic administration, clinical research and, most importantly, teaching.  She has four grandchildren, all of whom have attended Lexington Latin School.  In her spare time she is developing new skills in suburban micro-farming.

Mandy Avery
Lower School Dean

Mrs. Mandy Avery graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  She joined the LLS faculty in 2013 and taught third grade for six years and now serves as a Lower School administrator.  She is married to her best friend, Shelby, and they have two children, Logan, an LLS graduate, and Suzanna, an LLS highschooler.  Mandy loves spending time with her family and enjoys being outdoors, kayaking, traveling, and reading.

Cassie Corbett received a BA in Psychology from Asbury University and an M.A.T in English Education from the University of South Florida.  After completing her masters, Cassie taught middle school English at private day schools in Florida and Kentucky for four years before becoming a stay at home mom to her three children.  She reentered the classroom at LLS in 2013 and now serves as Lower School Curriculum Director.

​Mrs. May earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and her Master of Science degree from the University of Kentucky.  She owned a private nutrition consulting practice and taught Nutrition Science at the University of Kentucky, Georgetown College and Eastern Kentucky University before pursuing administration at Trinity Christian Academy.  While there, as Director of Academics and Admissions, she also taught Rhetoric and developed the Drama program. Mrs. May joined the staff at LLS as the Director of College Planning and is currently the Upper School Dean. Mrs. May is a native Upstate New Yorker but considers Kentucky her home.  She has three children, Allison, Julia, and Brenden, and resides in rural Madison County.

After working in campus ministry for four years, Rick Freeman joined the LLS staff in 2018. He holds a B.A. in English education from the University of Kentucky and an M.A. in Theological Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary. When he’s not busy being a nerd about theology and poetry, Mr. Freeman spends his weekdays working at Lewis House and his weekends enjoying the company of his little family. His son Nathan attends the Lower School while Samuel and Eleanor stay home with his lovely wife, Devon.

Stacy Gedritis is originally from Michigan and moved to Kentucky in 2007.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Communication Arts from Aquinas College and a Masters of Business Administration from Western Michigan University.  She worked in the banking industry for nine years before becoming a stay at home mother to her two children.  During her time at home she was an active volunteer for many children’s organizations.  She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and training for long distance running races.

Andrea Blanton was born in Ashland, Kentucky and moved to Lexington when she was a year old.  She received a B.S. in Merchandising & Textiles from the University of Kentucky.  She married Jeff in 2001 and they have 3 children, 2 of whom attend the Lexington Latin School.  She has been a part of the LLS since 2010 and looks forward to many more years here.  She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and decorating.
