Mrs. Jeannie Davis
Founder Jeannie Davis began the Lexington Latin School in 2003 by teaching Latina Christiana I and Roman history to beginning Latin students. LLS quickly grew to a full curriculum and all day classes. Mrs. Davis has been a long-time friend to Cheryl Lowe, founder of Highlands Latin School and Memoria Press. Mrs. Lowe encouraged Mrs. Davis to begin the venture of a Latin school in Lexington. Mrs. Davis' credentials include a B.S. degree from Western Kentucky University, an M.A.T. from the University of Louisville, and an M.S.W. from the University of Kentucky. She and her daughter studied English Literature at Oxford University in Exeter College one summer. Mrs. Davis holds a Lifetime Teaching Certification in Kentucky and has had much experience teaching in various venues including high schools, community colleges, adult education programs, and home schooling. Mrs. Davis loves teaching children and watching their knowledge and good character increase. She resides close to Lexington, Kentucky, with her husband, Sherman. |
Mrs. Cassie Corbett
Lexington Latin School Foundation President & Curriculum Director EMAIL: [email protected] Mrs. Cassie Corbett serves as the President of the Lexington Latin School Foundation as well as the Director of Curriculum. Before moving into this position, she served in a variety of roles beginning in 2013: teacher, Director of Curriculum at Lower School, and Lower School Administrator. Prior to coming to LLS, Mrs. Corbett taught middle school English at private day schools in both Florida and Kentucky. Her credentials include a B.A. in Psychology from Asbury University and a Master’s in English education from the University of South Florida, including study abroad programs in both Paris and Oxford. Mrs. Corbett resides on a farm in Nicholasville with her husband, Jeremy, and their three children, Davis, Hill, and Caroline. She enjoys reading great books, especially Jane Austen, and learning as much as she can about classical education. Seeing students transformed through the good, the true, and the beautiful at LLS is one of her greatest joys in life. |
Devon Freeman
Chief Financial Officer EMAIL: [email protected] Mrs. Devon Freeman took over the role of CFO in 2022. Before beginning at LLS, she ran the finances for a campus ministry for eight years and then stayed home with her children for one year. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Her wonderful husband, Rick Freeman, has worked at LLS since 2018, and they have four lovely children. Their oldest, Nathan, is currently at the Lower School. Most of her time outside of LLS is spent caring for her family, but she also loves to read and go for walks when the weather is warm. |

Mandy Avery
Lower School Principal EMAIL: [email protected] Mrs. Mandy Avery graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She joined the LLS faculty in 2013 and taught third grade for six years and now serves as a Lower School administrator. She is married to her best friend, Shelby, and they have two children, Logan, an LLS graduate, and Suzanna, an LLS highschooler. Mandy loves spending time with her family and enjoys being outdoors, kayaking, traveling, and reading. |
Julia Witbeck
Lower School Admissions Director EMAIL: [email protected] Mrs. Julia Witbeck graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is passionate about teaching young children and taught Junior Kindergarten for seven years before moving into her current role. Julia and her husband, Adam, have three daughters who attend LLS. She enjoys baking, crafting, gardening and reading aloud to her family. |
Christina Pittman
Lower School Office Manager EMAIL: [email protected] Mrs. Christina Pittman attended Seattle Pacific University and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, completing studies in Social Anthropology and Foundations of Biblical Hermeneutics pursuant of career global missions. Christina and her husband, Jamie, along with their children spent three years in Thailand working among the Isaan from 2004-2007 as church planters. She has home-educated her four children for the past eight years as well as taught high school literature and poetry in local cooperatives. Currently, two of their children attend LLS. She enjoys backpacking, canoeing, exploring, and seeking adventure with her family and friends. |
Rachel Profitt
Lower School Office Staff EMAIL: [email protected] Mrs. Rachel Profitt graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Interpersonal & Family Communication. She grew up a preacher's kid and spent many years leading in campus and worship ministry and traveling to different countries on mission trips. Before joining LLS office staff in 2020, she worked as an office manager for an engineering firm. Rachel and her husband, Jonathan, have three kids who have attended LLS since 2017. Rachel is passionate about helping to create a life-giving environment for the students and parents when they come into the office and loves getting to know the LLS families. According to her husband, she enjoys spending money at Target and receiving packages every day from Amazon. Even if she does indeed enjoy those things, she also enjoys reading on the beach, playing card/board games, and being a coffee connoisseur. |
Ashley Craw
Lower School Office Staff EMAIL: [email protected] Mrs. Ashley Craw has fallen in love with the Bluegrass State after moving here 13 years ago from her home state of Indiana. She is a Registered Nurse and spent 10 years working in Women's Health and Pediatrics. She is married to Brian, and they have three children: Hudson, Beckett, and Emmie Kate, who attend Lexington Latin School. Ashley joined the LLS faculty in 2019 teaching preschool and K-2 art, and she currently works in the office. She loves the classical Christian model, and her free time includes spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, and traveling. |
Upper School Administration
Paula May
Upper School Dean & Director of College Planning EMAIL: [email protected] Mrs. May earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and her Master of Science degree from the University of Kentucky. She owned a private nutrition consulting practice and taught Nutrition Science at the University of Kentucky, Georgetown College and Eastern Kentucky University before pursuing administration at Trinity Christian Academy. While there, as Director of Academics and Admissions, she also taught Rhetoric and developed the Drama program. Mrs. May joined the staff at LLS as the Director of College Planning and is currently the Upper School Dean. Mrs. May is a native Upstate New Yorker but considers Kentucky her home. She has three children, Allison, Julia, and Brenden, and resides in rural Madison County. |
Rick Freeman
Director of Student Life & Webmaster EMAIL: [email protected] After working in campus ministry for four years, Rick Freeman joined the LLS staff in 2018. He holds a B.A. in English education from the University of Kentucky and an M.A. in Theological Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary. When he’s not busy being a nerd about theology and poetry, Mr. Freeman spends his time reading kids books and enjoying the company of his four children and his lovely wife, Devon. |
Stacy Gedritis
Administrative Assistant EMAIL: [email protected] Stacy Gedritis is originally from Michigan and moved to Kentucky in 2007. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Communication Arts from Aquinas College and a Masters of Business Administration from Western Michigan University. She worked in the banking industry for nine years before becoming a stay at home mother to her two children. During her time at home she was an active volunteer for many children’s organizations. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and training for long distance running races. |
Andrea Blanton
Upper School Office Assistant EMAIL: [email protected] Andrea Blanton was born in Ashland, Kentucky and moved to Lexington when she was a year old. She received a B.S. in Merchandising & Textiles from the University of Kentucky. She married Jeff in 2001 and they have 3 children, 2 of whom attend the Lexington Latin School. She has been a part of the LLS since 2010 and looks forward to many more years here. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and decorating. |
